About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Who we are

Here's the deal, Bethel Oakfield cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Bethel Oakfield is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.

Where we come from

We are located in Northern Maine, near the Canadian Border, 17 miles south of Houlton and 100 miles north of Bangor. Since 1955, Bethel Pentecostal Church has had three pastors: Rev. Marvin Lawrence (39 years), Rev. Marcel Daigle (11 years), and Sterling Lawrence for the last 12 years. Since that time (1955), there have been three building programs, two of those involved building entirely new sanctuaries to facilitate the blessing of God, exemplifying growth. And, by His grace, we are still alive and growing today!

Each Sunday people stop in to see what we are all about. We're delighted that many make the decision to come back again. People come first as a visitor, they return as a friend, and later they become a part of the church family. You will find that the music is contemporary, the message is Biblically relevant and the Holy Spirit is always welcome. He, (The Holy Spirit) comes to make Jesus real to hearts who need answers. We are imperfect people serving a perfect Lord, Who loves us perfectly! Join us soon ... we welcome you!

Where we're headed

What's the bottom line? More than ever, Bethel Oakfield is committed to fostering a family built around connections. Connecting with God, connecting with people and connecting people with God. And as we move forward as a church family, a sense of belonging remains at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.

What this means for you

What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Bethel Oakfield. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the Bethel family.
